I went out this morning and had a phenomenal Japanese Bluebird singing…here’s a quote from Thoreau..

“Princes and magistrates are sometimes styled serene, however what’s their turbid serenity to that ethereal serenity which the bluebird embodies? His Most Serene Birdship! His comfortable warble melts within the ear, because the snow is melting within the valley round. The bluebird comes and along with his warble drills the ice and units free the rivers and ponds and frozen floor. Because the sand flows down the slopes a little bit approach, assuming the types of foliage the place the frost comes out of the bottom, so this little rill of melody flows a brief approach down the concave of the sky.”

Henry David Thoreau, Journals–March 2, 1859

And so now, as then, the bluebird is singing because the ice and snow soften right here in Thoreauland (I reside subsequent to the city the place he lived) and produce me pleasure, simply because it did HDT. Full circle of timelessness, some issues stay to raise out spirits and hearts, simply look and hear.
